Dueling Mandates in Yellowstone

Old Faithful is the most popular tourist destination in the whole park.   The only access into there is by snowmobile or snowcoach .Which if you don’t know is a big a large vehicle that lets you drive better in snow easier than walking. The use of them has gone up alot since the 1970s to more than 140,000 visitors per season since 1990s. It has become a big concern of some that they do a lot of bad things such as, pollution, use restrictions , group conflict , etc. . The dilemma is : How do you balance the parks dual mandates of preserving park resources while allowing access for the enjoyment of the people?  So I have many takes on this but one that i think will work the best is; Ban snowmobiles from the park and allow people to travel by snowcoach , skis, or snowshoe only. Now there are many things probably going through your mind ” that’s not right” ”you could do___” , and yes that’s right but it helps a lot and makes a lot of sense . So you can still use snowshoes and skis to help you walk in the snow so you may not fall as much. But  it’s not the greatest cause you can get injured on the snowshoes just as bad as a snowmobile . Which if you have a lot of friends/family [im sorry] you really want a snowmobile to just put everybody in and go.  One of few good things about this is snowmobiles pollute the air so it doesn’t help us much so maybe they should go away. Or maybe you wanna stay fit for your 2019 resolution walking with snowshoes mite be your thing. It will also make it much cheaper to get snowshoes than rent a snowmobile. Another big thing is that if your on a snowmobile they go really fast so  you cant go site seeing  like you can with  snowmobiles.
